L/M 2013-2014 #6 Lotte Geeven - 'A Second Of Nothingness'09 January - 19 January 2014
This was the sixth exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2013/14 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Lotte Geeven and Apprentices: Almudena Crespo, Janina Frye, Jerome Daly and Julie Lesenne Can we stop for a second the rush of images, texts, information, the endless bombardment of data?. This input of images, over which we do not seem to have any control whatsoever, is so overwhelming that it reaches a point when we are unable to aprehend or absorb anything; we reach a point when the flux of images produce in us a kind of blindness. At that point, at that second of nothingness do we perceive anything? Are we lost in total “nothingness” in that second, or on the contrary do we start to see “things”. |
L/M 2013-2014 #7 Thom Puckey - 'Nachtschade'23 January - 02 February 2014
This was the seventh exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2013/14 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Thom Puckey and Apprentices: Danilo Silvano Fernandes, Kirsten van der Stelt and Thera Clazing 'All art is personal to one degree or another. In the same way all art is a picture of the maker, even if it's only a picture of his/her wish to remain completely and absolutely invisible. These four artists accept the idea of 'personal' with open arms, and deal with their own presence or absence within their works in acute and particular ways. Masks are created only to be stripped aside. Identities are concealed in the deepest darkest depths, only to be revealed in the harshness of full light. Personal becomes suprapersonal becomes nothing becomes art becomes personal, all over again.' |
L/M 2013/2014 #8 Carina Diepens - 'Dérive'06 February - 16 Februay 2014
L/M 2013/2014 #9 Kinke Kooi - 'Totem & Taboe'20 February t/m 02 March 2014
This was the ninth exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2013/14 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Kinke Kooi and Apprentices: Jermick Wawoe, Koes Staassen, Merlijn van der Hoeven and Sander Bos. |
L/M 2013/2014 #11 Marjan Teeuwen - 'Speculations About Space'06 March - 16 March 2014
This was the eleventh exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2013/14 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Marjan Teeuwen and Apprentices: Emanuel Riksen, Lara Verlinde, Janine van Oene and Robin Gerris. |
L/M 2013/2014 #12 Gerard Koek - 'As In Other Words'20 March - 30 March 2014
This was the twelfth exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2013/14 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Gerard Koek and Apprentices: Emma Grout, Karina van Leengoed and Simon Weins. |
L/M 2013/2014 #13 Frank Koolen - 'Lekker Bezig'03 April - 13 April 2014
This was the thirteenth exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2013/14 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Frank Koolen and Apprentices: Mike Moonen, Rowan van As, Thijs Franssen and Vincent Bijleveld Voor onze samenwerking besloten we samen dingen te beleven. |
17 April - 27 April 2014
This was the fifteenth exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2013/14 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Zoro Feigl and Apprentices: Charlotte Koenen, Ivanka Annot, Rogier de Maker and Thomas Ritzen. An exhibition with things that are in movement and things that are static. With raw materials and mechanical constructions. We bring things to another state, by applying change gradually, quickly or repeatedly. We create patterns in movement and change equilibrium by using the physical forces of materials. The material motivates us and drives us to find something that we might have been looking for. |
L/M 2013/2014 #15 Zoro Feigl - 'A Proposition of Dynamics' |
L/M 2013/2014 #16 Sachi Miyachi - 'Norma'01 May - 11 May 2014
This was the sixteenth exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2013/14 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Sachi Miyachi and Apprentices: Charlotte Koenen, Ivanka Annot, Rogier de Maker and Thomas Ritzen NORMA: From the Latin Norma: Rule, model, measure, standard. Also the name of a Village in Tibet. We are building a system between the four of us. It is named “NORMA” after opening a dictionary in a random page. The System conditions time, space, choices of materials and other variables for us. It tells us how to condition each other and gives us a role. The system is a guidance to navigate, to act and react. Each person is in charge of a particular activity and each activity is intended to influence and interfere with the other. The Navigation Cycle System is a way to organically synchronize our practices, allowing each activity to become a buoy for the next one. The aim of the System is to transform habits, unstable their normality and create our own set of daily actions. We want to relate consciously towards our own time and space. The System is the result of 4 meetings we held for the last 4 months in 4 different cities. |
L/M 2013/2014 #18 Anouk Kruithof - 'Luvumore'
15 May - 25 May 2014
This was the eighteenth exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2013/14 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Anouk Kruitof and Apprentices: Andrea Jellina Grevink, Dorenda Verhaegen, Goof Kloosterman and Marilou Klapwijk Skype, e-mail and one analogue dinner. An exhibition that was organised mainly digitally. L/M 2013/2014 #20 Paul Devens - 'The Library of Babel'29 May - 8 June 2014
This was the twentieth exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2013/14 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Paul Devens and Apprentices: Anne van de Star and Naama Zusman The library as an embodiment of open systems often serves as a platform for the alternative, opposite to established and monopolized markets. This becomes an inspiration to many critical expressions, regarding, by example, the setup of seed libraries for the collection, preservation and sharing to secure biodiversity and availability to, often local, agricultural endeavors. As a model, the library addresses many forms that explore ways of the open exchange and preservation of information. In this project we try to change a perspective in order to create a different comprehension of our practices. Out of the almost limitless categorizations of libraries that literature and art offers, we choose the ‘Library of Conflicts’, the ‘Library of the Invisible’, the ‘Library of the Subjective’ and the ‘Library of the Unwritten’ as models to serve us in a resonant way. We wear four distinctive spectacles to see the complexity of connotations of existing works and new works that are brought together in the project. We are not taking any responsibility to the verifiable as this is not a part in our library. We would like to share collected ideas, documented disturbances, snippets of identities and the disclosure of any issue on moral or on the private, but always open. |
L/M 2013/2014 #22 Anne Daems - 'Sage Blush'12 June - 22 June 2014
This was the twenty-second exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2013/14 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Anne Daems and Apprentices: Leon Stoffelen, Lucie von Eugen and Jelena Dolgopol Personage 1: (Sublimeren van) het gewone, humor, essentie. |

The Day of the Young Artist 2014September 08 2014
At De Pont Museum Tilburg The Day of the Young Artist is an annual, international symposium in which young artists from all over Europe gather at De Pont Museum, Tilburg. The symposium offers an engaging program focussing on the dialogue between the new generation of artists, European art schools and the professional field. Together with the audience, we looked at the artists’ identity, his position and role in 'the scene' and 'society'. Who exactly is the young artist? What are his dreams and ambitions? How does the young, European artist keep himself standing at a time where grants continuously disappear? Next to tips and tricks from present-day experts we also looked at the past: how does the contemporary art world relate to the art scene in earlier times? What might we then say about the future? By means of stimulating lectures, inspiring discussions and exciting workshops we tried to get to the bottom of the future of the artistic practice. |

#1 Apprentice/Master 14/15 with Piet Dieleman: 'In-semble'30 October – 13 November 2014
This was the first exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2014/15 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Piet Dieleman and Apprentices: Katie Flood, Carlos Alfonso, Stef van den Dungen and Zeli Bouwens In the beginning there is nothing, only empty space expecting to be occupied by something, then the sound of hollowness vanishes when things start to emerge in the form of anything and later are brought together to shape the state of all. Some things become entities others are transformed into objects, they seem to speak in between and for an instant, the encounter gathers everything in unforeseen assemblages. If an end must come, we would meet in the common landscape and claim for a lovely spring. For this encounter, four artists from different backgrounds will present the possible lines of thought that joint their ways of making in a constellation of individual ensembles of information. |
Master Talk with Piet Dieleman at De Pont Museum14 November 2014

In collaboration with De Pont museum for contemporary art in Tilburg, Kunstpodium T organizes 5 talks in the auditorium of De Pont during the Apprentice/Master project. Led by current themes, these interactive talks revolve around questions about the artistic practice, life after the academy and the way the master artists place themselves in the art world. |
#3 Apprentice/Master 14/15 with Vincent Dams: 'A Dutchgirl an Englishman an Irishman and a Belgian walk into an empty space says the...'20 November - 07 December 2014
This was the third exhibition in the Apprentice/Master Program 2014/15 held in Kunstpodium T with master artist: Vincent Dams and Apprentices: Alexander J. Croft, Denis Shankey Smith, Yuki Dupain and Detlef Godzorro Packo WE CAME, WE SAW, WE LOOKED AGAIN, AND AGAIN… Suddenly there was a title that could explain it all, ‘A Dutchgirl, an englishman, an Irishman and a Belgian walk into an empty space, says the…’ Everybody liked it, and off we we’re. Two will bring some work, two will improvise. One is very enthousiastic, one is very silent. One likes to dress up, one likes to drink. One would like to clash, one would like to build bridges. One is not really thinking about it, one can’t take it’s mind of of it. One reacts the same day, one is still quit after a week. One is all over the place, one is concentrated in the corner. One will be there too soon and will have to wait, and one will be on time but still too late. As a visitor it would probably not take long to see who is who, but I would like to finally meet them in person as well. |
